EXCLUSIVE IN TNT is using its experience in parcels delivery to launch a chilled distribution service for independent retailers and garage forecourt shops.
A trial operation will start on 16 October using two shareduser depots, in Oldham and Milton Keynes, and a fleet of 30 new vehicles, mostly 35-tonne box vans.
Andrew Fitzmorris, TNT's director of business development, says: "Retailers will phone in their orders in the afternoon, we'll collect direct from the manufacturers and, like the parcels operation, will deliver the next morning on a shop-by-shop basis."
