J{AVING established its direction indicator in the car market, Gisbornes, Ltd., 320, Witton Road, Birmingham, is now considering the pot:sibilities held by the commercial-motor industry. The indicator casing is of cast aluminium, the ends being tapered. A ruby lens, as well as a pair of lugs in which are bolt holes to permit attachment to a number plate, are embodied in the underside of the signal. The word " Stop" and two arrows are cut in the casing, provision being made to allow a white light to be thrown upon the identification plate. The sign is controlled by means of a neat triangular switch, which is designed for connection to the steering wheel, and by a floorboard device coupled to the brake pedal by a spring. Operation of this switch illuminates the word " Stop," and the lighting of the arrows is controlled by a lever which is pivoted at the apex of the arrow switchbox. This contains a small bulb which lights in company with those in the indicator proper, thus warning the driver of the satisfactory operation of the indicator at all times.
