ART makes sure all its drivers are trained to nationally recognised NVQ Level 2 for Driving Goods Vehicles.
The specially developed course involves a one day in-cab assessment when photographs are taken of the driver carrying out each of the requirements, followed by a 45-minute exam.
All new starters undergo A twoday in-classroom, induction with the national driver trainer before working in-cab for five days minimum with the regional driver trainer.
The in-classroom induction process, combined with the NVQ assessment, contributes to most of the 35 hours of the Driver CPC training requirements for all HGV drivers.
Granite says: "Improving and standardising ART driver training is high on the company's agenda. Our customers understand that quality training and high standards of health and safety are important to us".
