All uture orders will include the /inches as standard. The lajority of its existing flatbed railers have now been fitted with the winches.
Apart from being more secre the system enables consigntents to be sheeted and on the 5ad far quicker than when sing conventional lashing iethods, say Ferrymasters. The winches are supplied with a 30ft x 2inch wide webbing strap which has a breaking strain of 10,000 lbs. The straps incorporate a sewn-in becket eye in the free end to facilitate attachment to a conventional rope hook.
The Ferrymasters 30ft and 40ft flatbed trailers are fitted with 10 and 12 winches respectively. Loads are secured by passing the webbing straps over the sheeted load and fitting the eyes on the free ends to the rope hooks. The straps are tightened by using a winding handle to rotate the winch ratchets.
