AFIER travelling 350 miles by road from Tallington, Lines, two 86-ft. prestressed concrete piles have been delivered in Glasgow by A. J. Wootten, Ltd., Dteping St. James, Peterborough.
The 20-ton load was hauled by a Foden vehicle, powered by a Gardner sixcylindered engine with a booster box. The piles were chained to a four-wheel bogie mounted on 12.00-20 tyres. The total length of the outfit was 102 ft.
