• The EEC Commission is trying to improve the enforcement of the two-year-old regulation relating to driving time and record-keeping among goods vehicle drivers in the Community. Replying to a question by a member of the EEC Parliament, the Commission admits that it does not really know how effectively the provisions concerning goods vehicle drivers are being applied. It hopes to dicover how well the agreed controls are being organized and applied when member States begin to send the annual reports which they will shortly be obliged to do.
The Commission has already approached several States which have not yet laid down all the provisions of the regulation and is pursuing the matter "with all the means that the EEC Treaty puts at its disposal".
