Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Truckfest's most coveted award last year for the third time running — this year he decided not to enter to give others a chance!

Third was Robert Hymas with an A-reg Volvo F12. He drives for his family's Harrogate-based firm, Alfred Hymas.

DAILY STAR BEST KEPT VINTAGE TRUCK: The winners in this category came from three different generations of haulage. Tony Knowles of Knowles Transport in Wimblington, Cambs, won for the third year in a row. It was his second win with the same truck; a 1954 Foden FE48.

John Thomas of Wisbech, Cambs, was second with a 1936 Vulcan and and Rob Bennett of Marley Transport, never far from the winners' podium, took third place with a 1972 AEC Mandator,

BEST KEPT WORKING VOLVO F86/88/89: This was organised by Commercial Motor and Volvo to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the trucks that put the Swedish manufacturer on the UK map.

Norman Biddulph from Shirley's Transport of Stoke-onTrent, Staffs was judged to have the best-kept example: his N-reg F88 is used to haul tankers.

Tom Davies from Penton's Haulage of Ruyton XI Towns, near Shrewsbury, was second with an R-reg F88; Kingsley Thorneycroft from Hayley Freight of Ashton-Under-Lyne took third place, also with an R-reg F88.

MOBIL CUSTOM TRUCK OF THE YEAR: First, second and third places in this category were all taken by the same stalwarts who won last year.

John Phillips took his second prize of the day for his J-reg Scania 143 500 Streamliner. Second was Graham Cordiner, an owner-driver from Peterhead in Scotland who is a Truckfest regular with his 1989 Scania 143. Third prize was won by Trevor Streeter from Streeter of Bagshot with his 17-year-old Volvo F88.

BP BEST J-REG TRUCK: This one was won by Andrew Williamson of KC Williamson from Kirkpatrick with a Volvo F12.

Tim Stitfall from Bristolbased Blagden Packaging was runner-up with a Scania 113 and Robert Thomas, also of Blagden Packaging, was third.

FINA BEST CONTINENTAL TRUCK: This new category at Truckfest was won by Dale Grange from Dale Grange Transport of Warboys, Cambs, who entered an F-reg Scania 113.

Northampton owner-driver Mark Goddard was second with his 1988 Volvo F16 Globetrotter, and third prize went to Peter Knight of PK Haulage, Reading, who runs an F-reg Volvo F10.

00UK BEST KEPT OWNER-DRIVER VEHICLE: John Phillips scored his second win in this category, which is sponsored by ownerdrivers' co-operative Owner Operators UK, with his F-reg Scania 143.

Second was Benfleet, Essexbased Rob Scriven, who entered a 1990 Volvo F12, and third was Graham Cordiner.

DIESELINE BEST KEPT RIGID: Barry Jackson was last year's winner in this category too: this year he was one of the judges. David Whetton's A-reg Volvo earned its second win, pipping Wisbech-based Ken Gowler of AD Hirst with his B-reg Leyland Freighter, and James Neaverson of Peterborough with a D-reg Mercedes 1114. ROADPHONE COMMUNICATIONS BEST COMPANY OWNED VEHICLE: Robert Hymas was first in the companyowned category — compensation for being beaten into third place in best kept working truck. He was challenged by David Gill from EA Gill of Huntingdon, who was second with a 1989 ERF E-Series; and Craig Ward, also of Alfred Hymas, who entered an F-reg Volvo ELIO.

BORG & BECK BEST KEPT FLEET: Blagden Packaging entered two vehicles, a Scania 113 and a Volvo F6, to scoop first prize in the fleet class. Second was Marley Transport's Volvos and third was David Shipp Haulage from Bury St Edmunds, which submitted two Scanias and two Volvos.
