• Scanla's Mc concept truck is a R164 NA6x2NA 580 6x2 tag axle tractor with its chassis sharing the same 3.9m i steer-to-drive axle) wheelbase and overall length as a bonneted 6x2 T-tractor.
• However. its R-series Moline sleeper cab has been extended backwards by 1,3m, giving it the same bumper-to-back-of-cab dimension as a 1-truck with a regular sleeper.
• While the eXc's stretched cabin looks similar to a crew cab it has unique skis panels from the R-post backwards, along with an extended roof and new floor pan.
• Compared with a standard CR19 Topline cab which weighs approx. 1,300kg, the eXc cab weighs around 1,790kg. However, Scania points out that many of its Interior fittings are wood; alternative materials like plastic or aluminium would save further weight.
• Maximum Interior headroom Is 2.3m over the living area and 2.0m over the engine tunnel. Width is the same as a regular R Topline cab, however, extending it has virtually doubled the volume Inside to around 14m3.
• Coupled up to a conventional 13.6m trl-axle curtairisider, the eXc rig measures around 17.8m.
