A FULLY-AUTOMATIC drain valve I-1 for use on air lines has been introduced by Nuquip, Ltd. Known as the D.8-000,• it can deal with a large volume Of water in an air line without any appreciable pressure drop.
Compressed air enters through an inlet port and passes through a filter, which collects large particles of pipe scale and other Solids. Drops of moisture then fall into the main reservoir which is normally sealed by a plasic float resting on an escape nozzle. When the water level in the reservoir rises sufficiently to give buoyancy to the float, water is ejected through the escape nozzle until the reservoir is empty; the float then immediately reseals the nozzle.
The 0,8-000 is 7k in. Jong and 2 in. in diameter. It is available with 1-in. BSP inlet connection or NPT thread. All parts are of non-corrosive material.
Sole distributors in the U.K. are Nuquip's associate company Martonair, Parkshot, Richmond, Surrey.
