The accompanying table of registrations of new vehicles in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, recently released by the SM MT, shows that British Leyland leads the field for both June 1969 and for the six months ended June 1969.
Another table of figures released by the Ministry of Technology shows that the total seasonally adjusted commercial vehicle production was four per cent higher in June than in May, due mainly to higher production for the home market. Exports of commercial vehicles for the period Jan./June 1969 are shown to have increased by 30 per cent over the same period last year, to 93,458.
The table also shows that in June there were 40.204 commercial vehicles produced, 23,810 for the home market and 16,394 for export.
