• At Stamford, Lincs., magistrates' court, Harold Edward Musgrove, Gervais Harold Robert Musgrove and Ralph Gordon Victor Musgrove, trading as H. E. Musgrove and Sons haulage contractors, Waterstreet, Stamford, pleaded guilty to eight charges of failing to produce records and eight charges of failing to comply with licence requirements; fines totalling £1,200 were imposed.
Defending solicitor told the courithat there was a vast amount of paper work involved in keeping the firm's 20 lorries on the road and the records in question had been mislaid when the firm moved from Castle Dyke, Stamford, into Waterstreet.
• Mr. L. J. O'Keefe, of Halifax, was fined a total of £31 at Halifax Borough Court on Tuesday. He was fined £10 on four charges of contravening S.14 (1) of the Road Safety Act, 1967, (failing to have a plating certificate) and £15 on four charges of contravening S.14(2) of the Road Safety Act 1967 (failing to have a test certificate). A fine of £6 was also imposed for using a goods vehicle without a carriers' licence.
