• The Conservative Party has unveiled its new spokesmen on transport issues, prompting changes to the Commons Transport Select Committee.
Anne McIntosh's promotion to shadow minister for transport alongside Christopher C hope has forced the transport committee to shuffle its personnel. McIntosh and Chope will be working under the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, Tim Collins.
There are four changes to the Transport Select Committee. In comes Liberal Democrat Tom Brake, and Labour MPs Graham Stringer and Clive Efford, while Robert Syms is the new Conservative member. All have some transport experience but no specific haulage expertise.
