• A new safety locking system has been incorporated into AbelMatic demountable equipment manufactured by Abel Systems Ltd.
Designed on a fail-safe principle, the new locking system is fitted to AbelMatic chassis units to secure the vehicle bodies. The locks are permanently in the "locked" position until released by the driver from a specially designed control mounted in the vehicle cab.
The control also incorporates an audible and visual warning system which is activated when the locks are released and can only be switched off by de-activating the control which then automatically locks the vehicle body. The audible warning, can be heard when the driver is out of his cab.
A further safety feature of the new lock-mg control system is that it houses a master valve connected to the main air supply. This provides the user with two added advantages; first, the lift pack cannot be operated without disconnecting the locking system, and secondly, the equipment cannot be activated by unauthorized personnel without first gaining access to the driver's cab.
The locking system, designed by Abel Systems' development engineers, replaces a hand operated lever control and can be easily fitted to existing AbelMatic equipment.
