CM EXCLUSIVE BORN-AGAIN tipper maker Fruehauf is planning a move into the rigid tipper body market, says MD Dave Talent (pictured, left).
A Daf 8x4 chassis is currently at the Grantham, Linos factory awaiting a new aluminium body and the vehicle will be out on demonstration with customers from the middle of January
"Demand for our tipping trailers is very strong," says Talent. Due to requests from a number of customers we've accelerated OW plans to enter the rigid body market. The body is currently in the design stage and will be
fitted to the chassis soon. We'll start with an aluminium body then add steel to the line-up later."
Fruehauf was bought by Wadsworth Holdings earlier this year after the company went into receivership. It is building 12 trailers a week 50% more than the build rate at Fruehauf's old factory in Dereham, Norfolk.
