HARRODS HAS submitted a new licence application to the Western Trafic Area for authorisation to run 40 vehicles and 40 trailers out of two operating centres in Thatcham, Berkshire.
The world famous luxury department store wants to use the centres to take receipt of goods from suppliers before they are ticketed, tagged for tracking and allocated for delivery to its store in Knightsbridge or its UK airport outlets. VOSA’s operator summary shows that the application includes 11 company directors, including Mohamed Al-Sayed and the Prime Minister of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Al Thani.
