A new ATF is the key to future success for Hertfordshirebased Hoddesdon Truck Centre, after it invested £3.7m in a new facility
Words: Kevin Swallow
A NEW authorised testing facility (ATF) lane is key for the Isuzu Truck and Renault Trucks dealership Hoddesdon Truck Centre, following its £3.7m investment into a new facility.
The ATF lane is currently open one day a week but Kevin Purcell, dealer principal, says that will rise to two from 2 January, and he expects it to be open four days a week by the summer next year.
“There’s a lot of work in the area; the nearest ATFs are at Edmonton and Royston, which requires up to five hours for a round-trip and to have the work done, plus £100 worth of fuel to make the journey. The ATF lane here can reduce downtime and costs,” he says.
The investment includes an 11-bay, over-height workshop, capable of handling CVs from small trucks up to maximum length and height trailers, the ATF lane, three mobile service and breakdown vans, and a recovery truck.
Hoddesdon is a sales and aftersales agent for Isuzu Truck and an aftersales centre for Renault Trucks. ■
