IN The poor maintenance record of Thomas Miller Junior, trading as White Cart Freight, of Paisley, has led to the authorisation on his licence being cut from five vehicles and five trailers to three vehicles and three trailers. Miller appeared before Scottish TC Michael Betts at a Glasgow disciplinary inquiry.

• Maintenance problems have led to the authorisation on the licence held by Fife-based Joseph McAllister being cut from four vehicles to two by Scottish TC Michael Betts. McAllister, who trades as DS Services, of Lundin Links, appeared before the TC at an Edinburgh public inquiry.
Formal warning
• Shropshire livestock haulier John Roberts of Nash, Near Ludlow, has been warned about his future maintenance standards by West Midland TC John Mervyn Pugh. Roberts appeared before the TC at a Leigh, Worcestershire, public inquiry.
Appeal lost
• Ashton-under-Lyne-based Durogate has lost its appeal against the suspension of one of its two vehicles for a month by North Western TC Keith Waterworth. The Transport Tribunal also dismissed the company's appeal against the TC's refusal to grant it an additional vehicle and trailer.
