nue to our members' concerns that the Recovery LI Industry Focus Group had lost its way, along with the concerns of our national council members who attended the focus group meetings and were asked to sign letters of confidentiality, and lack of information coming from focus group, our last EGM unanimously decided to hold a referendum. The result was 22% to continue to support and 78% to withdraw our support from the focus group.
Our aim has always been to raise the technical and general knowledge of persons engaged within the industry, and to offer advice and support to our members wherever practicable. To continue to support the focus group would have required loss of control of the decisions made on behalf of our members.
As the largest organisation solely representing recovery operators, we feel that we must keep our own separate identity to be able to represent our operator members properly.
A letter has been sent to the focus group informing them of this result and of our resignation from the group. Peter Cosby FIMI, AM:WE,
Chairman, Road Rescue Recovery Association.
