• A Cheshire meat haulage business set up in 1956 and employing 19 drivers is being dissolved and its assets sold off next week on the orders of one of its joint directors.
Despite having a "thrilling order book" and regular customers such as Hillsdow-n
Holdings, A Thomason and Sons' cashflow problems persuaded Peter Thomason to sell up his assets and quit haulage.
It is understood that Thomason's brother David was running the company, which has now ceased trading, when an insolvency supervisor was appointed to help run it last year.
Thomason's 25 vehicles include 4x2 and 6x2 Scania and Volvo tractor units. The 22-acre site includes a 1,200-pallet capacity cold store.
