• Marshall Commercial Vehicles has become a Foden main dealer for Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and East Bedfordshire, taking over from Foden East Anglia and Peterborough Engineering.
Currie grows
• Brian Currie, former Leyland Daf light truck, parts and services dealer, has become a main Leyalnd Daf dealer for Northampton and Milton Keynes. The territory was previously covered by Peter Brown which became an Iveco Ford dealer this week.
Falmouth freight
• Work at Falmouth docks began last week to accommodate a new freight service between Falmouth and the Iberian peninsular which is due to start next year.
Into port
• The Maxi Group has bought Andover Transport from the Red Funnel Group which is part of Associated British Ports. Andover operates a 36 vehicles from 7.5 to 38-tonners.
Birkby buys
• Bradford-based Hill Hire, heavy CV and trailer rental and contract hire specialist, has been acquired by the Birkby Group for £4.5m, plus an additional £2m if pre-tax profit targets are reached. Birkby's commercial vehicle hire subsidiary Ember Automotive specialises in hiring light CVs.
