• An unusual livestock carrying drawbar outfit has joined T Langdown & Sons' fleet. It uses a converted Seddon Atkinson Strato as prime mover—a 4x2 tractor has been stretched by Andover Trailers and fitted with a lifting rear axle and Granning air suspension.
With anti-roll bar for extra stability the outfit is rated at 35 tonnes gross.
The AT centre-axled trailer also uses Granning axles and air suspension with load sensing anti-lock braking. Like the unit it carries a hydraulically operated 8.5m twin-deck body system from Parkhouse of Cumbria.
