Acouple of CV manufacturers have been busy bolstering their used van set-ups with new initiatives; anew rental set-up and in-house insurance.
Renault is rolling out Renault Rent, a van rental programme, throughout its UK network; it's already running at three of the firm's 220 UK sites, in Croydon. Oldham andWolverhampton.
Renault Rent will supply dealers with an extended range of used light CVs with an enhanced test drive set-up for potential customers. All the vehicles in the scheme will be less than 12 months old, with common-rail engines.
Jonathon Darke, manager of UK Rental at Renault UK, says the van rental market has taken off in a big way in recent years:"We believe that as Europe's largest light commercial vehicle supplier we are ideally positioned to respond to this rising demand."
He expects Renault Rent to cover 50 branches across the UK within the next two years.
The other initiative is for buyers of new and used Volkswagen vans. Its in-house Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Insurance gives customers the opportunity to acquire their motoring, finance and insurance from a single source.
Claimed benefits include competitive quotations; tailored quotes; free assistance to help recover uninsured losses; a 24/7 accident and recovery scheme; easy payment methods; and premium discounts.
