• South Shields-based Port of Tyne Logistics Service has replaced the bulk of its fleet with a dozen new Scanias.
The ton 11114 380 twin-steer 6x2 tractors and a pair of P94 220 4x2 18-tonners join five existing Scania P54 310 4x2 tractors running at 28 tonnes. They are on a five-year contract-hire package from Scania (GB), and were supplied through nearby Union Trucks.
The 24-hour opening at Union Trucks' new Washington site was a major factor in the deal.
