We give a short description of the lvd Patent Vapouriser, as now fitted to the " lvel " tractors, manufactured by the lye! Agricultural Motors, Limited, Bigg-leswade This vapouriser is intended to be used with paraffin, but it works equally well with alcohol. Tractors Jilted with this attachment have been exported to New South Wales, Queensland, Turkey, Austria, and other parts of the world, and these machines are giving satisfaction. In addition to those mentioned above, there are several machines in the British Isles which have been fitted with this arrangement for working with heavy oil, and the results are convincing as regards reliability and economy.
Fig. i shows the vapourising tubes, whilst Fig. 2 shows a general view of the carburetter. Referring to Fig 2—A and B represent a part of the induction pipe_ Thc nest of tubes shown in Fig. i is fitted inside the chamber (CD) in Fig. 2. The upper and lower ends of C and D are connected up to the exhaust pipe_ It will be seen that the products of combustion pass through the tubes (G), effectually heating them. The paraffin spray passes up the tube (A) as far as the chamber (CD), and directly it impinges on the nest of central tubes it is immediately vapourise.d. The end (A) of the induction pipe (AB) can be connected IT to an ordinary spray carburetter. If it is desired to start up' the engine on heavy oil,
