PRIVATE promoters planning to build a third Dartford Tunnel must submit their proposals by May 31, Transport Secretary Nicholas Ridley has announced.
A decision should be made before August 1, he told MPs in a Commons reply that had been delayed for sonic: time.
Ridley said he was sorry that it had taken so long to complete work on the guidelines and also that he had not yet seen the Commons trans
port Committee report on tolled crossings, which is to be published on Wednesday next week.
