Editor Will Shiers met Dame Vera Lynn as she added her signature to a customised truck that is being auctioned for the Help for Heroes charity. Dame Vera said: “It looks fantastic! My great-grandchildren would love it. It’s a pleasure to help a charity as worthwhile as Help for Heroes.” The 2002 Scania R124, which has been pimped by CM’s sister magazine Truck & Driver and a host of industry sponsors, is on eBay now. It is hoped it will raise thousands of pounds. Bidding had reached £6,600 as CM went to press and the auction closes on 15 November.
