• Bradford-based Wilson Truck Services' latest 'Cabriolet' design for rigids and semi-trailer bodies allows top loading, combined with many of the benefits of TIR tilt body.
The hybrid curtain-sider has a flexible roof section that folds back under mechanical or elec trical power. Its frame tuns on rollers on the outside of the cant rail and the operating mechanism is located behind the airfoil with the switches or crank handle mounted on the front of the body.
The rear door header section is hinged and swings away to allow clear loading through the roof, in addition to the rear and side access.
Equipping a 122m semitrailer on mechanical suspension with a Cabriolet body will bring its kerb weight up to 6,750kg and will cost around £1,300.
