PARCEL delivery firm Hermes, formally known as Parcelnet. has opened the doors on its new 85,000ft: national hub at Bermuda Park in Nuneaton.
The hub is designed to handle some 50 million parcels a year, and will be supported by an existing hub in Bradford.
The firm is introducing a new next-day service on top of its traditional two to five-day service.
Scanning equipment has been fitted to sorters that allow picture images of all parcels with a claimed scanning accuracy of 99.6%.
"The hub possesses the necessary capacity to meet our future growth plans," says Hermes chief executive officer Carole Woodheaci.
