The agreement ends a longsimmering row between 350 drivers and warehouse staff who demanded compensation when Lowfield began negotiations to buy Jacobs' haulage arm {CM 40 August}
Lowfield has agreed to give each staff member a "transfer payment" equal to one week's contractual pay and allow both the Transport and General Workers Union and the United Road Transport Union to continue representing staff.
