TRUCKPOL IS anticipating a positive announcement shortly from the Home Office over its future at the forefront of combating truck crime in the 1.IK.
TruckPol's parent. the Association of Chief Police Officers' Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (AVM), is waiting to hear whether the Home Office will reinstate its annual £400,000 grant.
"We have received a business case from AVCIS, from which a business plan is now under development. We therefore expect to be able to make a positive announcement about the funding of AVCIS soon," a Home Office spokesman says. AVCIS has received no government funding since 1 April.
