Iveco staff head for Hays in £200m deal

II Nem Ford is transferring 42 employees to Hays Distribution as part of a five-year £200m contract in which Hays will deriver parts across Europe.
The staff are currently based in lveco's chain of warehouses but the transfer will be phased over the next year beginning in January 2000 as part of lveco's aims to improve efficiency.
Ronnie Frost, chairman of Hays, says: "Hays Logistics Europe already has a blue-chip client list across both the retail and industrial supply chain and the strength of our European coverage has enabled us to win this prestigious contract as it will fully use our cross-border expertise.'
Flays is also managing an additional 650,000ft2 warehouse in Doncaster for DIY retailer B&Q.
This is the seventh regional consolidation centre run for B&Q by Hays and it will create 200 jobs. Hays' first contract to operate FICCs for B&Q started in March 1999.
