MR. SIDNEY GARCKE, C.B.E., M.I.MEcn.E., so well known in the commercial-vehicle industry, particularly on the public-service-vehicle side, has added to his other activities by joining the boards of directors of Eastwoods, Ltd., Eastwoods Cement, Ltd., Eastwoods Humber Cement, Ltd.' Eastwoods Lewes Cement, Ltd., and Eastwoods Flettons, Ltd.

MR, JOHN WOODS FISHWICK, of Manchester, has been elected president of the National Employers' Association of Vehicle Builders. MR. E. McNeil, of Barrow-in-Furness, becomes vicechairman, MR. C. H. CLIFFORD, following his retirement from business and A.R.O. activities, was presented with two fireside chairs by past and present members of the Western Area Regional Committee of the Association. He has been actively engaged with A.R.O. since its inception. The presentation was made by MI. A. F. Wills, chairman of the Western Area, who spoke of the good work put in by Mr. Clifford.
