The Friweg Multicraft Superwrench marketed in Britain by Armstrong Patents Co Ltd is said to move even the rustiest nuts and bolts.
The wrench needs no compressed air, hydraulics or electrical power, and its planetary gearing system gives a 30:1 power transmission ratio. The torque is applied through a 1in. square lug on, which the appropriate adapters can be fitted. A shear pin prevents the gears being overloaded,
For its primary role as a wheel nut remover, the wrench. has a stopper bar which uses the next wheel nut, the rim or the hub as a resistance. To increase performance in this role and also fit the tool for other applications, a second stopper bar is available with a larger radius.
As soon as the affected nut or bolt has loosened, the power transmission can be disconnected by withdrawing the stopper bar and locking the handle, thus converting the tool to a normal four-way spanner with a 1:1 transmission ratio.
The Superwrench is supplied in a metal carrying box complete with standard stopper bar and adjustable handle. Standard sockets can be used. Heavy-duty
sockets are available to fit all nuts up to 145rnm.
