Traffic examiner Malcolm Seward told the court that the offence was found when a 7.5tanner was checked at a parking bay off the M6 at Perry Barr, Birmingham, on II March, The firm wrote to the court saying it had not been aware of the defect, but it had since been corrected.

At the same court, G&G Transport (1988) of Claydon, Suffolk, was fined £300 with £65 costs after admitting having an inoperative tachograph on a 32.5-tormer.
