• Nisson has confirmed the prices of its new Pickup range (CM 2-8 July). The entry-level single-cab 4x2 costs £10,725 (ex-VAT) while the expected top selling 4x41 King Cab costs £14,250 (ex-VAT). The 4x4 double cab costs £17,619 (inc-VAT), which puts it in close competition with Mitsubishi's recently launched L200 double cab (C17,670).
• Peugeot is to extend the service intervals for its light vans. From 1 August intervals for diesel Partners and Experts will be extended from 6,000 miles/one year to 10,000 miles/two years. Petrol-engined Partners go from 9,000 miles/one year to 20,000 miles/two years. Operators can call into any dealership for a free, noappointment check midway between full services. The increased intervals are due to improved filtration, longer brake life and semisynthetic oils; Peugeot claims it will cut servicing costs by up to 25%.
• Volkswagen has extended its Caravelle and Multivan range by adopting the 2.5-litre TDI engine, which develops 101hp (75kW) at 3,500rpm and 250Nm (18416ft) of torque at 1,900-2,30Orpm. VW has also introduced automatic and Syncro fourwheel-drive Transporters powered by the 2.5-litre TDI engine. All LTs bought before the end of the year come with free servicing for the first year and a free three-year warranty.
• Electrical retailer Comet has bought 126 Iveco Ford Cargo 75E15s to support its latest home delivery service. The contract is valued at more than £2.3m; there is a provision to increase the fleet to more than 200 vehicles at a later date.
