Design Council could have done when looking at 23-year-old Mr Mousley's "Jumbo Legs", and expressing surprise that no one had thought of the idea before (CM, May 19).
In 1963-4 when Mr Mousley was about 9 years old, another young designer, Geoff Anderson, working in the design office of the then Barton Stacey-based Pitt Trailer Co, came up with exactly the same idea, which Pitt marketed as the "Foreload".
I have also seen similar arrangements marketed by Dyson using a winch to lift the front end.
The then young Geoff Anderson is still designing trailers down in Hampshire at Tasker's Andover, just a few miles from Barton Stacey.
