CHRISTIAN SALVESEN has joined forces with Parcelforce and an internet design company to offer its customers an online shopping service combined with doorto-door delivery.
The three companies hope to convince their customers to invest in the bespoke service, which will allow them to offer consumers a facility similar to online retailing giant Amazon.
Christian Salvesen's customers, which include Ronseal, Rockware Glass and Dunlop, will be offered a web, warehousing and delivery service for about £4,000 a month.
And although none of Christian Salvesen's customers has yet agreed to invest in it, group CEO Stuart Oades is confident he will have agreements by September.
"There's a fairly rapid growth now in people committed to home shopping." he says. "And no doubt it will continue to grow.
"It's a good opportunity for people to enter the market without massive investment," he suggests .That's an important part of what we are offering — a costeffective solution.
