YEARSLEY GROUP, the cold storage and distribution irm based in Heywood, Manchester, has appointed Mark Haslam as its head of logistics.

He will oversee Yearsley’s logistics operation, which comprises a network of 12 cold stores and a leet of 300 temperaturecontrolled vehicles.

Haslam was previously MD for the UK transport operations of Suttons Group until August 2010. His 20 years’ experience in the sector also includes time at Wincanton and TDG, which is now part of Norbert Dentressangle.

MD Harry Yearsley says: “Yearsley Group is responding to the needs of both manufacturing clients and retail customers implementing a strategy that increases eficiency by improving consolidation and cutting waste delivery miles.

“[Haslam] has a strong track record in the sector and we have brought him on board to spearhead this programme.” Haslam’s irst task will be to implement a new leet management system.
