A handshake clinches the deal. They have been supplied with a comprehensive specification for use by the RNLI's divisional technicians, who are responsible for lifeboat repair and maintenance work. Citroen commercial vehicle specialist dealer Penton Bournemouth supplied the vans, which are expected to clock up more than 60,000 miles during their two years in service with the RNLI.
The RNLI has an active fleet of 306 lifeboats based at 223 stations. The volunteer crews make more than 6,500 launches a year and, on average, save1:300 lives.
