The Holland Europe Neway NSE90 nine-tonne suspension (below) is one a the lightest, at 130kg a time. It features a redesigned tapered hanger bracket that incorporates the shock absorber mounting to simplify fitment and save build time and cost. Ride heights ranging from 290-490mm are available. There is a new 11-tonne capacity underslung version, the NSEU 110 (above left), for high-cube trailers, car transporters and low-loaders.
Mentor's Flexlite FL9000 is 20kg an axle lighter than its predecessor. Ride heights are particularly low, starting at 150mm, although that reduces the standard suspension travel of 200mm.
Hendrickson's HLIB9 suspension has narrower hanger brackets than the HT250, and instead of being attached by U-bolts it is clipped over the axle then welded in place. The trifunctional bush has been made narrower without comprising durability and
there is a new tapered trailing arm. Weight r't for the nine-tonne suspension is 124kg, saving 35kg on the HT250.
