• Transport comes well up in the list of subjects of special interest to MPs in the new Parliament.
This is shown by a survey carried out by Newspoint, an independent Parliamentary news agency, which circularized all 630 members to ask them in what field they intended to specialize.
On the basis of 350 replies so far received, transport is listed as their prime interest by 39 MPs-25 Labour and 14 Tories.
This puts transport at number eleven— one above Europe and the Common Market —in a list of 40 subjects. Predictably, foreign affairs (74) interests the greatest number and tourism (9) has the smallest number of adherents.
