• CM's Trailer of the Year '97, Clayton Commercials' road/rail tanker trailer for BRT International, has SAF running gear, rather than BPW as stated in last week's issue.
However, BPW did supply the winner of the Dry Freight category, Don-Bur's Palletmaster 2001. This top-rated curtainsider is one of 24 already in service with Swift with another 38 curtainsiders in build.
They all have BPW's Eco/Airlight running gear with a steering rear axle. Swift has virtually standardised on the use of rear steer in order to reduce tyre wear and improve manoeuvrability. 0 A fleet of 30 Montracon mega-trailers have joined the Ferrymasters fleet, all equipped with BPW Eco axles and dualride-height suspension.
