Why should an employer recruit a driver when he has to:
• Spend thousands of pounds purchasing a vehicle; • Spend thousands of pounds on tax and insurance; • Spend thousands of pounds on fuel; • Spend thousands of pounds maintaining the vehicle; • Obtain an Operator's Licence; • Employ a transport manager to maintain vehicle and tachograph records; • Pay drivers' wages; • Find work for the vehicle; • Be responsible to the courts should the driver, unknown to him, break the law.
