IT IS A positive move that customers can use the OCRS data before awarding work to hauliers. I totally disagree with Steve Biddle of the Road Haulage Association's point of view (CM 18 September) — good operators will be proud to publicise their scores. Only bad ones will try to hide their results.
Des Ponsonby Managing director Corporate Solutions Ed says: CM has contacted Vosa to dear upthis issue. A spokesman for Vosa says: "We have set headlamp aim defects to the lowest possible points value (2). This means that we record them on our system so we can he aware of repeat failures, but their impact on an operator's OCRS rating is negligible.
