A.E.C. 'MAMMOTH MAJOR/
HEAVY DUTY DUMPER
FOURTEEN hundred feet up in the hills of
Monmouthshire, A.E.C. 'Mammoth Major' Dumpers are speeding up production at the Tirpentwys open-cast coal site. Day in, day out, over rough, steep, winding roads they carry coal from the extraction point to a conveyor system below.
Only the toughest vehicles can stand up to these gruelling conditions. The 'Mammoth Major' Dumper, with its off-the-road gross weight of
24 tons, has been designed for just this type of rigorous work. However hard the job, it keeps going with the minimum of attention and the maximum of efficiency. A low power-to-weight ratio gives striking economy, and its 150 b.h.p. diesel engine is always master of both load and gradient. Double drive axles, a fully articulated rear bogie and a high angle, high speed tip all add up to make the 'Mammoth Major' the soundest vehicle for the toughest jobs. Write for technical details.
