Our thanks to all who attended the HFA protest last week, but what happened to the rest? One local haulier, who shall remain nameless, promised to include 20 of his fleet—not one showed up.
The people who promised to be at Dover and didn't show should hang their heads in shame. They have now indicated to the government that they are quite prepared to accept the tax policies of the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The dismal turnout casts serious doubts on future protests. There isn't any point in trying to help people who don't want to help themselves.
The biggest disappointment was the total absence of support from the other protest groups and their members. This was certainly a very black day in the history of the Road Haulage Industry.
