THE MOTOR Industry Researc Association (Mira) intends t bring its recently commissione high-energy crash test faciliti which is used for impacting 31 tonne vehicles into rnotorwa crash barriers at 50 mph, full into operation in 1984.
Plans for a low friction surfac at the Nuneaton proving groun and updating of Mira's altitud chamber are also expected to b finalised next year.
Mira's income from July 198 to July 1983 was £4,210,71: 12 per cent up compared wi1 the previous year despite a n4 reduction in membership. Ti' surplus for reinvestment was n duced to £205,700.
All this is revealed in Mira' recently published thirty-eight annual report which also de: cribes some of the work done b the association's research dE partments during the year.
