A THREE DAY international con design will be held from February Geneva commercial vehicle show gress on vehicle and component 22-24 at Geneva in 1984, after the and before the car show.
The congress is being organised by the International Association for Vehicle Design, a nonprofit making learned society based at the Open University.
Top engineers and scientists from around the world have agreed to give the keynote addresses on the theme of future trends in vehicle and component design, and 120 selected papers will be presented.
Dr Peter Watson, chief executive of GKN Technology will talk on component designs; Dr Hucho of VDO will talk on future vehicle instrumentation; the title of the address by Professor John Heywood of the Sloan Automotive Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology is combustion chamber design for optimum spark ignition engine performance; Fiat's director of styling will talk on the interaction between stylist, engineering designer and manufacturing engineer; and Ford of Europe's manager, truck advanced engineering, Fred Johnson, will talk on technological and safety developments in truck design.
Three parallel conferences lasting 21/2 days will follow the keynote addresses. The conference fee is £200 for three days or £100 for one day.
