TO COMPLEMENT 26 diesel-engine test cells designed and installed by Autosense Equipment of Bicester, Oxfordshire, for Perkins' Eastfield factory at Peterborough, Autosense has been awarded a further contract worth £80,000 for two computer-controlled cold-test stands.
Cold testing is used to check the water, oil and fuel systems before the engine goes to "hot" testing in the computer-controlled test cells.
Should any engine not meet the required quality standards in these areas, the problem can be rectified before the more thorough hot engine test is started.
