BECAUSE OF the current depressed state of the UK vehicle market and the "withholding" of financial support by the Department of Industry, ERF has finally abandoned its plans to build a new factory at Wrexham.
The company says its longterm strategy is to extend its range and review its expansion programme at regular intervals. Meanwhile, it will rely on its Sandbach plant which is currently on a two-day week. The company will "fully implement the Sandbach facilities when the market recovers".
